Young, Awkward & Lonely is the fourth studio album by singer and songwriter Jeangu Macrooy. This is not your typical coming-of-age story, instead, it explores what happens after growing up: when you’ve come to understand your past, your future remains uncertain, and life’s big questions still linger. Across twelve layered songs, Jeangu explores three central themes: youth, discomfort, and loneliness - each through a different lens: the relationship with himself, with those around him, and with the world.

Young, Awkward & Lonely doesn’t offer easy answers, but it does provide recognition, nuance, and direction. It is an outspoken, sometimes painfully honest album that searches for meaning, security and, above all, connection - by standing for something, by coming together. The production by Jasper Zuidervaart (Chef’Special a.o.), paired with Jeangu’s soulful voice, creates a clear sound where folk, pop, and indie intertwine. Young, Awkward & Lonely feels both like a personal journey and a collective experience. It offers comfort to anyone who was ever young and felt, or still feels, awkward or alone sometimes.
