The third release on Unexpected Records back in 2003 was North West Metropolis’ ‘Expressions’ EP. North West Metropolis was a hip-hop collective consisting of three producers (Omar Rey, Ane and Perquisite) and three MC’s (Pete Philly, Kain Slim and CeeMajor). At the time mere youngsters, the group surprised hip-hop enthusiasts around the world with their sound. It was also Pete Philly & Perquisite’s first creative encounter; eventually resulting in their successful collaboration that would go on for years after. At the time, ‘Expressions’ was only released physically. So now, 12 years later, we decided it deserved to be released digitally as well, on all major platforms like Spotify, iTunes, Deezer etc. A very limited amount of the EP pressed on vinyl is still available in the webshop. A rare gem in Dutch hip-hop culture. Enjoy!
